Dominance of palm oil plantation utilization on peatlands in Riau Province

Abstract Oil palm plantations have a positive impact in the form of increasing economic and social value for people Riau Province. The area oil continues to increase. limited mineral land Province has triggered opening on peatlands. study was conducted obtain information dominance use peatlands this decade. with descriptive approach based analysis changes peatland increased production plantations. carried out spatially overlay technique. results were strengthened descriptively literature review. found that reached 44.48%. total FFE from 127 tons 2010 193 2020. estimated number who depend plantation sector is 51.93%. concluded activities dominated utilization increase supports becomes leading commodity. contributed aspects as mayor source livelihood income.
